Kerala govt injecting Marxist doctrines through textbook: Cong
Kottayam, Jun 23 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Joseph Vazhakkan, who is also in-charge of the Kerala Students Union (KSU), today charged the Marxist Party with trying to inject Marxist doctrines through standard VII Social Science textbook.
At a news conference here, he contended the KSU was staging agitation against the textbook because of the Marxist Party's secret agenda to politicise education sector by injecting Marxist doctrines through the textbook.
The Marxist's secret agenda was very clear from the guidelines given in the handbook for teachers, he said.
Through the book, the government was trying to give credit for the social reforms in the state to Communist movement and its leaders, the congress leader alleged.
Communist literature and history were the books recommended as reference books for teaching, he claimed and added this could not be tolerated.
