Kerala formulates draft for Pravasi Welfare Fund
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 23: The Kerala government was formulating the draft for the Pravasi Welfare fund for Non Resident Keralites(NRK) and it was in the final stages, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the state Assembly today.
In a written reply to Mr V Sasi Kumar (CPI-M) and others, he said the welfare fund would facilitate pension, financial help for marriages and education, among other things.
Mr Achuthanandan said identity cards and insurance policy for the NRK's would be launched in Malappuram district on a pilot basis.
The government had also decided to form a company for roping in NRK's for investing in tourism, industry and various other programmes in the state. T This would help in the development of the state, he added.
