Idea to launch operations in Mumbai in two months

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) Aditya Birla group-run Idea Cellular is all set to launch its full-fledged services in the commercial capital of country, within the next couple of months.

Speaking at a function today to launch the India-Sri Lanka series, to be played in the Emerald Isles -- ''Idea Cup'', Idea Cellular's Managing Director Sanjeev Aga said by the time the series begins in the last week of July, Idea would have begun operations in the metropolis.

Idea Cellular, which had a strong presence in northern and southern states of the country, had already obtained the licence from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), to start operations in the city 2006 and will begin its subscription this year, according to sources.
