DHBVN to reintroduce Voluntary Disclosure Scheme

Chandigarh, Jun 23 (UNI) On persistent demand of the consumers, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to reintroduce the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) of unauthorised extension of load.

The scheme will remain operative up to July 31, a Nigam spokesman said today.

The VDS, he said, was meant for the consumers in the categories of domestic, non-domestic, agriculture and industries in rural as well as urban areas. ''It is is a golden opportunity for getting regularised the irregularity committed by them, without paying any penalty.'' Under the VDS, the domestic and non-domestic consumers desirous of declaring their unauthorised load voluntarily could apply on 'Application and Agreement (A&A) form giving detail of the load to be extended.

''They are not required to submit any fresh terms and conditions and affidavits. The consumers may give an undertaking that they would abide by all terms and conditions of power supply,'' he added.
