CPI-M, PSF, DP condemns BJP statement on Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 23 (UNI) Describing the statement of economic blockade to Kashmir by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president most provocative, a group of three senior politicians to the appealed people to maintain the age-old brotherhood.
The Communist Party of India (M) state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Targami, Peoples Democratic Front(PDF) chief Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and Democratic president Ghulam Hassan Mir in a joint statement here today said the statement of BJP state president Ashok Khajuria was to provoke people and disturb the peace in the state.
Every right thinking man should condemn the statement of the Mr Khajuria, they said.
Such statements are going to help none but those who wanted to separate Kashmir from Indian union they added.
The people of the Jammu and Kashmir, who had maintained their centuries-old relations even during the trying times, will understand the game plan of the BJP and frustrate their evil designs.
They said BJP, after failing to divide people on regional basis, plans to divide people on communal lines which will never happen as people now can make a difference between right and wrong.
The leaders said Amarnath yatra was going on smoothly for centuries with the active help of local muslims. Even during the peak turmoil period, the yatra was going on, they said, adding nobody will be allowed to disturb the Kashmiri ethos.
The BJP chief had reportedly threatened to enforce economic blockade against the Kashmir valley if any strike was observed against the forest land transfer to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) at Jammu yesterday.
