Awards for Water-Environment conservation
Jaipur, Jun 23 (UNI) The Ramkrishna Jaidayal Dalmia Sewa Sansthan, a Chirawa-based volunteary organisation, will confer Dalmia Water Environment Award carrying prize money of Rs one lakh, to innovative work on environment, forest and water conservation and/or harvesting in Rajasthan.
The award which was conferred for projects/works of individuals and/or institutions within Shekhawati region of the desert state last year, will now be awarded at the state level from this year onward, selection committee Chairman Prof MS Rathore and Member Sunny Sebastian said.
Besides state level awards, eight special motivative awards carrying prize money of Rs 11,000 would also be given at divisional level from this year, they said.
Mr Rathore and Mr Sebastian told reporters that a lot of innovative work had been done in the state for conservation of forests, environment, optimum use of water resources and rain water harvesting.
They said the awards had been instituted in a bid to generate awareness in this regard and to inspire more and more people for the cause.
The institution had been engaged in public awareness for the above cause for several years.
