Assembly pays tributes to former Basavarajeshwari
Bangalore, June 23 (UNI) Members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today paid a rich tributes to 11 prominent leaders including former Union Minister Basavarajeshwari, Mr Blasius D'souza and Ms Eva Vaz.
Moving the Obituary motion, Speaker Jagadish Shettar said that Ms Basavarajeshwari was known for her contributions to farming community. She was instrumental in introduction of the rail link to world famous Hampi and also introduction of Balawadi centers in the state, he added.
Chief Minister B S Yaddyurappa also paid tributes to the departed leaders.
The house remembered the services of other leaders who had excelled in their fields and observed one minute silence as a mark of respect of the departed souls.
