2,883 pilgrims leave for Amarnath
Jammu, Jun 23 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2,883 pilgrims today left for Amarnath from here for the base camp for their journey to the holy cave shrine, official sources here said.
''With today's batch, a total of 17,636 pilgrims have reached the base camp from Jammu since the yatra began on June 17,'' official sources told UNI.
However, the fresh batch left early morning amid tight security from the base camp of Bhagwati Nagar in 112 vehicles, they said, adding that the yatra was suspended for a day on June 20 due to bad weather across the valley.
