Two militants killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 22: Two militants were killed by security forces in an encounter in south Kashmir, official sources said.

They said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces launched a joint operation at Nariwan, Shopian, in south Kashmir early this morning following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.

During the encounter, the militants attacked security forces with automatic weapons and also hurled hand grenades. The Security forces also retaliated and in the fierce clash two militants were killed.

Two ak rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
