Tripura hosts higher studies database for global students

Agartala, Jun 22: To facilitate academic prospects and higher studies for the students of Northeastern states, Tripura Higher Education Department has launched a comprehensive Higher Studies Information database, which includes information on government and affiliated institutions for higher studies in the country as a whole.

Official sources said the page had been developed and hosted by premier IT group of the region 'tripurainfo.com' and the institutional database would be officially launched by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar tomorrow.

The officials said the site included detailed and authentic information on higher education institutions, their status as determined by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Medical Council of India (MCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC) besides information regarding the higher education institutions' performance record, fee-structure, procedure for admission as well as all other relevant details for students and parents.

The database is being launched with a view to facilitate students in getting admission in institutions in and outside the region while it would also provide access to the global students who wanted to opt for higher studies in India, Tripura Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty said.
