Tension prevails after Ambedkar's statue ''insult''

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Jun 22 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Gopalpur village in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh after unidentified people ''insulted'' the statue of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar last night, police said today.

About eight people have been questioned by police in this regard.

Police suspected the ongoing dispute to be behind the ''insult'' of the statue.

The incident angered people belonging to SC in the village.

Senior police and administrative officials have reached the village. Police vigil has been intensified.
