Plea to resume train services in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Jun 22: The Marumalarchi Railway Trade Union (MRTU) has urged the Railway authorities to resume train services between Tiruvarur and Nagore and Mayiladuturai and Sirkazhi as soon as possible.

In a statement here today, Union General Secretary C Kannaiyan said the new broadgauge between these places had been completed long back. Though trial runs were completed in March itself, train services were yet to be resumed.

He demanded that the Railway administration resume the services after conducting the mandatory inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
