Fierce encounter in central Kashmir, 1 militant killed

Srinagar, Jun 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police assisted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) killed one militant in an encounter at Chatterhama near Dargah Hazratbal this morning who was hiding in a house.

Kashmir region Inspector General of Police S M Sahai said, " The encounter operation has been on since 7 am and we have killed one militant. Two or more militants are expected to be inside the house at Chatterhama." He also informed that two CRPF soldiers were injured during the encounter operation. The injured were admitted to a hospital and they are out of danger, he added. Chatterhama is around 25 kilometer from Srinagar.
