Centre to review budget mid-term: Minister
Puducherry, Jun 22 (UNI) The Union Government will conduct a mid-term review of the budget in the wake of complaints that Centrally-sponsored schemes are not being implemented in some States, Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said his Ministry had received complaints that the 14 Centrally-sponsored schemes were not being properly implemented in some States, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
Twenty advisors to the Planning Commission were asked to visit every State and review the implementation of the schemes and report before July 30, he added.
Mr Narayanasamy said commencing on June 30 from Orissa, he would visit Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and Puducherry to assess the implementation of the schemes and report to the Prime Minister.
He said an advisor to the Planning Commission was presently in the Karaikal region of the Union Territory and he along with the officials would visit Puducherry in September.
