CBI could make some foreigners approvers in kidney racket
New Delhi, Jun 22 (UNI) A few foreigners could be made approvers in the multi-crore rupee kidney racket, allegedly run by kingpin Amit Kumar with the Central Bureau of Investigation having send letter rogatories to Turkey and Greece to gather information about Kumar's patients there.
The CBI had some time ago send the Letters Rogatory to Turkey and Greece to gather more information about Kumar's patients, his business and stashing of money, a CBI spokesperson said.
The LRs from the designated court, later routed through the External Affairs Ministry to these countries, seeked details about the funds stashed by Kumar and details about his patients who came from Greece and Turkey.
The letter rogatories to the foreign countries could be part of efforts by the CBI to frame a strong case against Amit Kumar.
Bureau sources say Kumar could have stashed a part of his earnings in Canada.
