Sikh protesters block Delhi-Fazilka highway in Sirsa
Sirsa, Jun 21 (UNI) Hundreds of Sikh protesters blocked the Delhi-Fazilka highway (NH-10) near Sahuwala village in Dabwali sub-division of Sirsa district today, demanding registration of case against Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
The security guard of the Dera Sacha Sauda Chief had opened fire in Mumbai yesterday, killing one person and injuring two others.
The protestors, who were also demanding withdrawl of 'Z' security provided to Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, blocked the highway since morning by squatting on the road. However, negotiations were on with protestors to remove the blockade which was still continuing.
Adequate police force has been deployed at the site. Additional police force have reached Sirsa for being rushed to the spot.
The Sub-divisional Magistrate, Sirsa, and the Additional Superintendent of Police have rushed to the site of blockade. The situation was described as tense but under control.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the headquarters of Dera Sacha Sauda here. Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is expected to reach the dera this evening from Mumbai.
