Price rise during NDA regime also, says Scindia
Indore, June 21 (UNI) Slamming former BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, Union Minister of State for Information Technology and Communication Jyotiraditya Scindia today said there was a steep price rise during the NDA regime also though there was no inflation at the international level.
After taking part in a meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, he told mediapersons here that it would be better, if the BJP refrained from accusing others.
''The NDA government had increased the petroleum price several times, when crude oil was sold at about 30 US dollars per barrel,'' he said.
Mr Scindia said when it came to the state government's turn to curtail taxes, the BJP-led government in Madhya Pradesh reduced only nominally.
Admitting that inflation increased due to price hike in iron, cement and edible oil, he said a similar condition had been prevailing across the world. India was not an exception to this global phenomenon.
''The Centre is making efforts to check price rise, but it cannot be curbed in seconds,'' Mr Scindia added.
