Precious metals decline: BBA

Mumbai, Jun 21: The value of both, silver and gold eased today, as silver fell by Rs 45 per kg and closed at Rs 24,535, while standard gold slipped by Rs 30 per ten gm and closed at Rs 12,520, on lack of fresh demand from ornament makers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said today. The white metal opened lower at Rs 24,555 per kg, on poor buying support by industrial users.

Later, it further decline amid absence of demand from industrial users and finished lower at Rs 24,535, down by Rs 45 per kg from its previous close.
Standard mint and pure gold opened lower at Rs 12,525 per ten gm and Rs 12,585 per ten gm respectively, on sluggish demand from jewellery makers. Later, standard mint gold and pure gold lost further by Rs 30 per ten each from their last close, amid sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists. Standard gold and pure gold mint closed at Rs 12,520 and Rs 12,580 per ten gm respectively, traders added.
