PCG hardens stand, ridicules Gogoi
Guwahati, Jun 21(UNI) The Peoples Consultative Group(PCG) has hardened its stand and ridiculed Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for demanding ''to clarify its stand'' on sovereignty.
Ten members of the PCG met today. They said Mr Gogoi had no right to demand any clarification from it as in all the past meetings with the Centre, the PCG had unambiguously presented its view points including the question of ULFA's desire to demand the issue of sovereignty.
The Peoples Consultative Group(PCG) is a group set up by the ULFA to act as a go between the Centre and the ULFA while preparing the road map for talk.
The PCG's remark came at a time when the Chief Minister last night asked the PCG members to make their stand clear on sovereignty.
The PCG went on to allege that the Chief Minister Gogoi had all along been playing the role of a saboteur in the peace process.
The Group always believed that political solution arrived at through dialogue between ULFA and the Centre can only bring lasting peace.
