Patil assures strict action against culprits
Mumbai, Jun 21 (UNI) Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said strict action will be taken against the culprits, who were responsible for yesterday's killing at Mulund, an eastern suburb.
Trouble had prevailed in Mulund and adjoining areas of the city since last night after a security guard of controversial spiritual leader Baba Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sachcha Sauda opened fire on Sikh protestors gathered there, killing one of the protestors.
''If needed, we will call even Baba for the inquiry about the incident,'' said Mr Patil, who holds the Home department.
He said the government would review whether outside security be allowed to come with the people who visit here from other states, when the state police are capable of providing security to the visitors.
Meanwhile, Guru Singh Sabha, the apex body of Sikh community, has withdrawn their protest. However, their leaders said their democratic agiation demanding the arrest of Baba will continue.
Earlier, a delegation of Sikh community leaders, comprising former DGP P S Pasricha and MLC Charanjitsingh Sapra, called on the minister to discuss the situation and find out the way.
