Nostalgia at reunion at Sainik school
Thiruvananthapuram, June 21 (UNI) Nostalgia filled the air at Sainik School at Kazhakutam, near here and coupled with joy when old friends met and exchanged old and new experiences.
It was also a poignant moment for all of them when the bust of Captain Harshan, who was killed in encounter with militants in Kupwara in 2007, was unveiled.
The 39th Old Boys Association Reunion 'Sangamam 2008' saw about 499 alumni from different walks of life come together.
Lt General SP Sreekumar, Signal Officer-in-Chief of the Indian Army of Senior Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals, also an alumnus, unveiled the bust at the South Wing of the Academic Block.
He also inaugurated the newly-constructed Multimedia Lab at the Academic Block.
Prominent among those present were SASO of the Southern Air Command Air Vice Marhal Rajinder Singh, Pangode Station Commander Brigadier Cherish Mathson, Principal Of Sainik School Col Ajith KUmar, Registrar Lt Col MC Thomas, President of the OBA Capt Louis Meprath (IN) and Malayalam Cine Actor Indrajith.
The pavilion at the Parade Ground, sponsored by the batch mates of Capt Harshan (1997 Batch), was also inaugurated by Mr Radhakrishnan, father of Capt Harshan.
Later in the day, General Sreekumar handed over the IT Trophy to Cadet Dinesh Sharma for having secured highest marks in Class 12 in 2007-08.
