Nine of Excise dept team injured in MP

Chhindwara, MP, Jun 21 (UNI) Nine members of an Excise department team were injured after they were attacked by villagers at Malisaglia village in this district's Junnardev area, today police said.

The team had gone to seize illegal liquor in the village.

Constables Haribhanu and Ramdayal were seriously injured and admitted to the district hospital. Other injured were admitted to hospital in the area.

Villagers pelted stones and thrashed members of the Excise team when they had gone for the seizure.

Police said culprits would be identified and strict action taken against them.
