Keep Dal Lake clean; it is poluted: Vaghela
Srinagar, Jun 21 (UNI) Expressing concern over the condition of world famous Dal Lake, Union Minister for Textiles Shankersinh Vaghela today asked the local authorities to keep it clean.
''The condition of Dal Lake is not good as it is polluted,'' Mr Vaghela said while speaking at a function after inaugurating the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology and Craft Development Institute here.
He said the lake is the most attractive place for tourists in the Valley and ''we must take measures to keep it clean and healthy.'' Mr Veghela, who visited the Lake, said on its condition that any private party could be engaged to keep it clean.
''Tourists are staying in house boats in the lake and others have shikara ride. They will also feel happy when the lake is clean,'' he said.
