Farmers welcome inclusion of Ginger crop
Nahan, Jun 21 (UNI) Ginger growers of Shillai, Renuka, Rajgarh areas of Sirmour district expressed great satisfaction on the decision of the Himachal Pradesh government's decision to include ginger crop in the crops insurance scheme along with maize, paddy and potato.
The farmers said they were facing great losses due to natural calamities and rhizome-rot disease to ginger crops for the last many years.
The state government had extended the crops insurance scheme to ginger crops damaged due to fire, flood, storm, hails and rhizome-rot disease.
