Clouds, winds keep Delhi cool, mercury down to 33.5 deg C
New Delhi, Jun 21 (UNI) Cloudy weather prevailed in Delhi for the second day today even as strong Westerly winds maintained a cool air.
The clouds and Westerly winds, which followed close on the heels of a strong thunderstorm in the city last evening, brought down the maximum temperature from 35.2 degree Celsius yesterday, to 33.5 degree, six degrees below normal.
Earlier this morning, the minimum temperature was also recorded four degrees below normal at 25.5 degrees C.
The cool weather in Delhi is likely to persist till the weekend and the beginning of next week with weatherman forecasting some thundershowers during the next three to four days.
''The western end of monsoon trough has shifted northwards. Under its influence, more thundershowers are likely in Northwest India during the next few days,''the weatherman said.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in the capital during the next 24 hours with light rain or thundershowers in some areas.
