City police apprehend three Manipuri militants
Bangalore, Jun 21(UNI) The Central Crime Bureau of the city police today confirmed the arrest of six Manipuri extremists of the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak, who had taken shelter in a locality in the city.
Bangalore city additional police commissioner (Crime) Gopal Hosur told newsmen here that the arrested had allegedly committed various crimes, including murder, dacoity, extortion and kidnapping in Manipur.
He said the arrested were wanted by the Manipur police and faced sedition charges.
Mr Hosur said the CCB police had been tracking the movements of the terrorists for the last two months. They were reportedly indulging in extortion of money from various organisations in Manipur for their activities, from here.
He said all the arrested were allegedly active members of a banned organistion. They were taken into ten days police custody for further investigation. Manipur police would also join the state police in the investigation''.
