Chiranjeevi fans attack scribe, case booked
Hyderabad, Jun 21 (UNI) Police booked cases against the activists of United Students Forum (USF), an outfit of the Telugu filmstar Chirenjeevi, for allegedly attacking a scribe of a regional satellite TV channel today.
Police said cases were registered against the USF activists for assaulting reporter Ramesh, who was injured and admitted to a corporate hosptial.
The scribe was attacked by the activists after covering the meeting, organised by the USF at Sundariah Vignana Kendram.
Heated words were exchanged between the reporter and the activists when Mr Ramesh asked them to shift a car parked on the road disrupting vehicular taffic at the meeting venue leading to attack.
Police launched a hunt to nab the activists.
The USF was formed in support of Chiranjeevi following the recent statements made by his brother Naga Babu and his close associates that the actor would float a new political party by August this year.
