APCC urges Left to reconsider decision on N-deal
Vijayawada, Jun 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today urged the Left parties to reconsider their decision on the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal.
APCC official spokesperson P Venkata Rao, talking to newspersons here said at a time when the communal BJP was waiting for an opportunity to capture power, the left parties warning to the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre not to go ahead with the N-deal was not good.
The nuke agreement was very important to meet the future power needs of the country, he said.
As UPA allies --DMK, RJD and LJP-- were backing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the nuclear deal, the Left should also come forward to support it, Mr Rao, who is also member of the Legislative Council said.
