5 killed, 6 hurt as ambulance falls into river
Kozhikode, Jun 21 (UNI) Five people drowned while six others were injured when the ambulance in which they were travelling, rolled down into a river at Pattiyatt in Kozhikode district of Kerala early today.
The accident occurred when the ambulance carrying a body from Bangalore fell into the river after hitting the railings of a bridge, police said.
The deceased were identified as Dasan (50), his wife Anitha (46), Leela (48), Vijesh (24) and Shanoj.
The injured were rushed to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, police added.
