28 Lankan fishermen detained in TN

Chennai, Jun 21: As many as 28 Sri Lankan fishermen were arrested by the Indian Coast Guard when they inadvertently entered the Indian waters.

Reports received here said they were fishing in six mechanised boats about 68 nautical miles off Kanniyakumari Coast when they were spotted by the Coast Guard, who arrested them last night.

They were later brought to Tuticorin Coast this morning and handed over to the state police for further action.
