20 kg IED recovered in Jammu

Doda, Jun 21: The security forces have recovered 20 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), planted by militants on Bharat road, about 20 kms from this hilly district town of Jammu and Kashmir today.

Troops of 8 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) recovered the explosives-filled IED on Doda-Bharat road this morning, official sources said.

It is suspected that militants planted the explosives to target civilians as there was no movement of military vehicles on that road, the sources added.

The traffic on the route was stopped for searches as the entire area was cordoned off by the security forces.
