Why no phone charging facility in non-AC coaches, Lalu questioned
New Delhi, Jun 20 (UNI) Why is mobile phone charging facility only in Air Conditioned(AC) coaches? Why not in the non-AC compartments too? The arrangements presuppose that only the well-off people in the country today possess cell phones. But this was in stark contrast to the reality that mobile phones were today carried by ordinary people like rickshawallas and vendors too.
The update about the prevailing life style was given to the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad by his own partyman Rajniti Prasad Singh, who is leader of the RJD group in the Rajya Sabha.
Mr Singh sought to point out to the Railway Minister that mobile phones were today carried by a large number of people travelling in ordinary coaches also, so they should have the facility of recharging their phones.
In a letter to the Minister, he said the people travelling in the trains, on long journey in the ordinary coach, charge their phones only when the trains stopped at stations, which often resulted in the passengers missing the train or losing their belongings left behind in the coaches.
He urged Mr Lalu Prasad to equip ordinary coaches with phone charging facilities as soon as possible.
