Water cut likely if no rains for the next 15 days: Phatak

Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) City Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak today said water cut will be implemented in the city, only if it does not get rains for the next 15 days, as water supply needed for the month of June has been collected in the major lakes of the city.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Phatak said, ''There is enough water to last the month of June and the corporation will think of water cut in coming 15 days.'' Water level of the lakes supplying water to the city has come down marginally as the city did not receive rains for the last few days, Mr Phatak said.

Modak Sagar was recorded at 147.59 THD (Tendring Hundred), Tansa at 120.54 THD, Vehar at 74.71 THD, Tulsi at 135.17 THD, Upper Vaitarna at 594.90 MSL (Mean sea level) and Bhatsa recorded at 96.60 MSL.
