Two killed in train-tractor collision
Kaithal, June 20 (UNI) Two people were killed when a train hit a tractor trailer at an unmanned railway crossing near Sollumajra village on Jind-Kurukshetra railway section today.
Following the incident, the railway traffic remained suspended on this track for some hours.
According to sources, a tractor trailor was passing through the unmanned railway crossing near Sollumajra village when the Jind-Kurukshetra shuttle reached the spot and hit the tractor, throwing it at a distance.
Pala Ram, a resident of Tabra in Panipat district, who was driving the tractor, died on the spot. Another unidentified person was thrown up in the air and fell a few yards away. He succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
The engine of the train suffered some damage in the collision but the train reached Kurukshetra where its engine was changed. The train resumed its return journey from Kurukshetra to Jind.
