Tripura takes step for transparent management
Agartala, Jun 20 (UNI) As part of transparent management in development work at rural sector, Tripura government has decided to put complaint boxes and registers in all village panchayats and revenue blocks of the state besides, conducting regular social audits.
Talking to media here today, Tripura Rural Development Minister Jitendra Choudhury said the authority was instructed to install complaint boxes in panchayats as well as revenue blocks where common people would write their complaints, objections and comments on the development works at village level.
'' The village panchayats and block development officers (BDO) are instructed to periodically check the complaint boxes and scrutinise the registers and subsequently address the issues and inform the action taken report to person concerns and next higher authority,'' Mr Choudhury said.
All 1040 village panchayats and village committees of the Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council were directed to conduct social audit involving cross-section of the society and administration periodically to keep informed about the development of the works while District Magistrates had been asked to finalise the plans of works by this month, he added.
