Three Indian wrestlers to leave for Belarus for training
Patiala, Jun 20 (UNI) Three Indian matmen in Freestyle, who have qualified for Beijing Olympics_Yogeshwar Dutt (60 kg), Sushil Kumar (66 kg) and Rajiv Tomar (120 kg) will leave for Belarus on June 27 for two-week training.
Six more wrestlers_Pradeep Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Paramjit, Ramvir, Palwinder Cheema and Amandeep_ will go with them to support them in training. Accompanying them would be two national coaches, P R Sondhi and Yashvir Singh.
All the nine wrestlers, who are presently training here at the NIS, will then leave for Poland from Minsk for training-cum-competition from July 11 to 13. From Poland, they are likely to train in USA till August 5.
Chief National Coach P R Sondhi told UNI that all the three Beijing-bound wrestlers are likely to do well in the forthcoming Olympics since they are in peak form. This will be evident from their performance in the Grand Prix Wrestling in Poland in the second week of July.
