Strong thunderstorm cools Delhi

New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) A strong thunderstorm hit Delhi this afternoon, bringing the mercury down by several degrees and throwing up the possibility of more rains in the Capital city, after yesterday's heavy showers.

The thunderstorm, hit the city at around 1600 hours, brought down the day temperature by two to three degrees, and brought some relief for Delhiites from the hot and sultry conditions since the morning.

The strong winds brought down day temperature, from 33.2 Degree Celsius yesterday, to 32.4 Degree C.

Earlier, this morning, Delhiites woke up to a Sunny day, after a predominantly cloudy day and heavy rains yesterday. The Sunlight and high humidity led to sultry conditions.

The minimum was recorded at yesterday's level of 26.9 Degree C.

The weather is expected to remain cool with more thundry development or light rains forecast in the coming days.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with thundry development or light rains in some areas.
