Sonia attacks BJP government in Madhya Pradesh
Ujjain, June 20 : Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi said on Friday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Madhya Pradesh was playing politics in the name of religion rather than going for development.
She was addressing a mammoth farmers' rally in temple town of Malwa in Ujjain on Friday.
"All the development in Madhya Pradesh has been done during the Congress regimes but today there is politics in the name of religion, politics in the name of development, and politics at the cost of common man's life. But Politics is a medium of development and not destruction," she said.
Gandhi offered prayers in the Mahakaleshwar temple before addressing the rally.
Polls for the Madhya Pradesh assembly are due later this year.
