Sonia alleges massive corruption in MP
Rewa, MP, Jun 20 (UNI) UPA Chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi today alleged that funds for Centrally-sponsored schemes were not being adequately utilised in Madhya Pradesh, where corruption had reached its nadir.
''Under the Public Distribution System, the Centre has made 35 kg foodgrain available per poor person but the state regime is distributing only 20 kg per beneficiary,'' she said while addressing a farmers' convention here.
Ms Gandhi reached the venue half-an-hour behind schedule even as thousands waited under a drizzle. Among those present were Human Resource Development Arjun Singh, Congress General Secretary V Narayanasamy, state Congress Election Campaign Committee Chairman Ajay Singh and former Assembly speaker Srinivas Tiwari.
