Only registered pilgrims will be allowed to have Darshan at Amarnath

Srinagar, Jun 20 (UNI) Concerned over the heavy rush of unregistered pilgrims, the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have banned yatra without proper registration for that particular date.

It was compulsory for all yatries to carry their registration cards with them before proceeding for the pilgrimage, a police spokesman said here adding there are reports that unregistered yatris are reaching base camps at Baltal and Pahalgam.

He said no yatri will be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage without registration.

Similarly cards bearing back date registration or registration of any coming date would not be allowed to proceed for yatra, he said.

Pilgrims having the registration for that particular date will only be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage, he said adding this has been done to avoid any untoward incident because of unnecessary rush of pilgrims.

He advised the yatris to adopt the allotted route which is mentioned in the registration card.

Pilgrims going by helicopter should possess the registration card of the date of their yatra. Similarly Pahalgam route vehicles will not be allowed to move to Baltal.
