Manas urges MBOSE to improve syllabus
Shillong, Jun 20 (UNI) Meghalaya minister for Higher and Technical Education Manas Chaudhury has emphasised for reviewing and improving the syllabus to meet the needs of the students in the state.
During his visit to the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) at Tura in Garo Hills, the minister called upon the board authorities to review and improve the syllabus to meet the sstudents' needs.
He also asked the board to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining and not to depend on the government in terms of its financial needs as the state government was facing severe financial crunch with 90 per cent of the total budget going towards the salaries of the teachers in the state.
The minister urged the board officials to enhance its efficiency level saying that even the smallest mistakes could erode the image of the board.
''Improvements and achievements made by MBOSE in recent years, tells about its performance, and with faith and confidence we can bring about the change,'' Mr Chaudhury noted.
