Four BJP councillors arrested, released on bail
Surat, Jun 20 (UNI) Four BJP councillors of the city were today arrested by police for violating prohibitory orders during the Gujarat Assembly polls campaigning in December last year.
The councillors, Dhanaji Chavada, Darshiniben Kotiya, Vinubhai Zalavadia and Mansukh Kakdiya, were arrested under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code for violation of prohibitory orders, issued by the city police commissioner during the elections.
All of them were later produced in a city court, which released them on bail, police sources said.
