Editors Guild mourns death of Sengupta
New Delhi, Jun 20 (UNI) Editors Guild of India today expressed deep grief over the sudden demise of Barun Sengupta, Editor, Bartaman, Kolkata.
''Sengupta was a giant among contemporary Indian editors and had been part of the renaissance of Indian journalism, after the dark years of Emergency,'' president of the Guild Alok Mehta said here in a statement.
Sengupta contributed to the evolution of civil society in the country through his writings and journalistic leadership, he said.
''The Guild is confident that the Bartaman would carry forward the work and mission of Sengupta,'' the statement said.
