Srinagar, Jun 20 (UNI) The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Srinagar today directed the Srinagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to investigate and inquire under law the allegations against Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) Dr Arun Kumar.
The direction came on a criminal case filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) General secretary Murtaza Khan, MLC, against Dr Kumar for allegedly trying to communalise the situation.
Mr Khan in his application to CJM said the CEO has tried to communalise the situation and divide the communities by saying 'muslim pollution and Hindu pollution''.
The judge directed the SSP, Srinagar to investigate all the allegations leveled against Dr Kumar and report back within 15 days.
The CJM has listed the case for July 5.
Yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig demanded immediate removal of Dr Kumar for his alleged remarks against State cabinet and ministers.
The controversy started after 800 kanals of forest land was transfered to SASB by the authorities.
Almost all mainstream political, separatists and militant organisations besides religious leaders criticsed the government for allotting land to SASB.
