Case of breach of peace against former UP minister

Kanpur, Jun 20 (UNI) A case of apprehension of breach of peace and disruption in police work was today registered against former Uttar Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Satish Mahana and eight others in Chakeri police station here today.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Ram Lal Verma, a 40-yr-old woman was severely injured by a Kanpur Nagar Nigam truck that knocked her down in Harjindar Nagar area yesterday.

Later, when the police reached the spot, the angry mob resorted to brick batting, demanding immediate compensation for the victim.

The BJP legislator had a spat with the policemen over the issue.

The injured woman later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Investigation was on.
