Badal condemns firing by Dera Sacha Sauda chief's security guard

Chandigarh, Jun 20 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today strongly condemned the firing by Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's security guard in Mumbai today in which a Sikh protestor was killed and two were injured.

Mr Badal, who recevied this information in Amritsar, telephoned Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and the state DGP, asking them to immediately book and arrest the culprit responsible for this tragic incident.

He impressed upon them the need to take effective measures to maintain peace and safeguard life and property of the minority Sikh community in Maharashtra.

Mr Badal also called upon people to maintain peace and communal harmony at all cost. ''No one should be allowed to vitiate the hard earned atmosphere amity and peace in the country,'' said Mr Badal in a statement released here this evening.
