Absconding criminals nabbed in TN

Tiruchirapalli, June 20 (UNI) Police nabbed 69 absconding criminals, against whom non-bailable warrants were pending, in eight districts falling under the Central Zone, according to Zone Inspector General of Police Karan Singha.

In a press release here yesterday,he said special teams zeroed in on seven criminals in Tiruchirapalli District, ten each in Pudukottai and Perambalur, 11 each in Ariyalur and Nagapattinam, three in Karur, nine in Thanjavur and eight in Tiruvarur on Tuesday.

In a similar crackdown on bootleggers on Wednesday, special teams carried out intensive raids and booked 134 cases against 102 men and 25 women in the districts falling under the Central Zone.

About 1,850 litre of fermented wash, 4,546 litre of illicit arrack and 6,105 litre arrack from Puducherry were seized from their possession.
