4 youths held for extortion
Korba, Chhattisgarh, June 20 (UNI) Four youths, who posed themselves as members of transport authority's special flying squad and extorted the vehicles entry, were arrested and vehicles used in the crime was also seized here, police said today.
Sakti-residents Pradeep Yadav, Amit Yadav, Ashish Chandra and Surendra Sahu went to Urga area from a sports utility vehicle sporting red-light last night and extorted truck drivers.
Barrier worker Nand Lal suspected them and immediately informed check-post Sub Inspector Dwivedi. A police team reached the spot and interrogated youths but did not get any satisfactory answer. Later, they confessed their crime and said that they planned for extortion just for amusement.
A case has been registered and probe was in progress, police added.
