2337 students to get scholarship under centrally sponsored scheme
Chandigarh, Jun 20 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has decided to give scholarship of Rs 6000 per annum each to 2337 meritorious students of class IX in Haryana.
The scholarships will be paid from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years, an official spokesman said here today.
Under this scheme, scholarships would be given to those students whose parental income was not more than Rs 1.50 lakh per annum from all sources.
The spokesman said the fixed quota of scholarship for 2337 students had been decided on the basis of enrollment of students in class VII and VIII in the state and population of children of concerned age group of class VII and VIII. The scholarships would be provided quarterly.
