YC, KSU activists injured in lathi charge

Thrissur, June 19 (UNI) Twelve Youth Congress and Kerala Students Union (KSU) activists, including MLA T N Prathapan, were injured when police resorted to lathi charge to disperse a protest march by party workers against police atrocities, after it turned violent.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital.

Three policemen, including Sub-Inspector K R Santhosh, were injured when protestors threw stones at them.

Protesting against the police action, the District Congress Committee called for a six-hour hartal in the district tomorrow.
